Things you shouldn't do while the professor is lecturing

I now use paint to doodle when I get bored. The lectures are good but on day 8 after 64 hours of lecturing the mind begins to look for escape. I' m not sure what the image above says about my state of mind...

Fun In The Sun At The San Diego Zoo

Here are some pictures from the San Diego Zoo. We did a lot of walking around to see animals that weren't all that interested to see us, as you can tell from some of the pictures. I think it most have been nap time. The rhinoceros on the other hand was quite the sight. I could easily imagine what it might have felt like to stand next to a dinosour. This particular animal was bigger than a minivan. The picture really doesn't do him/her justice.

As to the rumor that the San Diego Zoo is the zoo you just have to see...well...if you have been to one good zoo, I think you have probably been to them all. It was neat, but I have seen caged sleeping animals before.

Sleeping Beauty

There are those who would argue that conciousness is merely C fibers firing in the brain. Yet, they must first begin to explain why I experience such "joy" and "awe" when in the presence of such innocence. It is impossible for these responses to be merley mechanistic. Rather, I believe it is my soul recognizing that only God can bring about such a miracle. Posted by Picasa

The Bathing of Mr. Kitty a.k.a. "Griffin"

I don't know how the rest of you feel about cats. I personally don't have a problem with them. Most of the time they clean up after themselves, unlike dogs. Griffin (our cat) and I occasionally have a misunderstanding (e.g., he seems to forget which end of the couch is mine and what part of the floor is his).

Griffin can be a little snotty at times. Every once in a while he'll get into one of his high and mighty-give me what I want-look at me I'm a cat-once worshipped by Egyptians-moods, and I'll have to remind him who's boss. So, what I am saying is, I have a love hate relationship with my wife's cat. It is from this foundation that I share the above picture and derive much enjoyment.

Man he was mad. He pouted for days.

Caution Blind Man Driving
Christiana and I had a dental appointment the other day and as we were driving home I pulled up behind this van. I looked over at Christina and said "Hey it's not safe for him to be driving on the road, especially when it's raining. I mean, after all, he is already blind, right?" She agreed. Yet, she thought I was just joking in my usual sarcastic-muppet-like-way (see the two old men from The Muppets).

The humorous part of this tale is that I truly was bewildered for a second. I was concerned that the DMV had started issuing DL to blind people. As you can see, when you pull off to the side, as we did to get a better picture, you can see that it's a pun...hardy har har...lol

Hat tip to ALL PRO-BLINDS...good one!

I'm leaving on a jet plane...don't know when I'll be back again.
Okay...I do know when I'll be back again.

Christina and I will be leaving this Sunday for sunny California. She will be on vacation. She'll be tanning and shopping in the hot California sun, and I will be sitting in class for eight hours a day. Still, I am stoked about going. Last year was not only informative but encouraging and motivational.

Like I have said before, this southern boy could live out west.

I plan on posting daily pics and such.
